Joe & I went to Mt. Hood to scope out a potential climb.

Well the climb starts at Midnight so there are no night picture. But we decided to keep going cuz the weather was awesome.
Look Mom I'm on Top of the world! Don't tell Connie! We don't look like we've been climbing since Midnight? Do we? Gosh isn't Joe Photogenic? Mr. Mountaineer
The view from the summint wasn't the greatest, but you can still see the Cloumbia River, if you look real close. Yep, that 's how you get to the top, climb that ridge Lest anyone think we had a secluded hike. There were maybe 100 people climbing. This is a view from the Pearly gates, just below the summit looking at Crater Rock. Mt. Jefferson is on the left.
Joe, looking real warm. The picture looks back at the summit. We're on our way down. See all the people still going up. The line of people lead to an area called the Pearly Gates. Cross that and you're at the summit. After reaching the summit some people ski down from here. Here's another view of Mt. Jefferon. Looking back at the Summit from the parking lot. Mt. Hood is 11,239 feet high. The highest point in OR.
Lest anyone think this is just a regular mountain. Mt. Hood is an inactive volcano. See cloud in the forground is sulfer gas being vented.
